I have been toying with the idea of keeping a blog and this is my imagination come to reality. My main focus is in three areas – my training and racing in running and triathlon, my love of reading and the characters that grace the pages, and finally my love of enjoying this life with friends and travel. I work quite a bit, so I have no desire to bring my business life to these pages.
A note on my athleticism – I didn’t start running in races until I was 33. I was not an athlete as a child or in college. Frankly – running, swimming and cycling did not come easy to me and remains challenging to me. Many of these challenges I will share here. I want to encourage everyone to follow your passions, not just what is easy. It is in overcoming hurdles and barriers that we truly test our limits and abilities. There is much more we are capable of if we only believe in ourselves.
I commend you for running. I was an athlete for years and even when I was in great shape, I absolutely hated running. I could hit a 90 mph fastball, but I could barely run 3 miles without dying. I walk now, my knees are bad. Maybe one day I will be able to run.
Walking is good too! Many sports use my sport (running) as punishment. I can see where team sports athletes may not care for running. I love it though. Now a fast ball? I never could hit one!
“Follow your passions, not just what it easy.” Very well stated. Thanks for liking my running post. I appreciate it. As I prep for my second half marathon, I may have to ask the expert (aka you) if I have any questions. π
Thank you for following me! I am far from an expert but I am happy to help! Looking forward to reading your experiences.
Thanks for liking my post. It’s always great to meet other people who love triathlon. It’s addictive! I’m impressed that you can do flip turns in the pool, I haven’t even tried!
It was at the urging of a friend that I learned. I was terrified at first. Finally I broke down and had a life guard teach me. I am so happy I got over my fear. Triathlon is a wonderful sport and I really enjoy reading other peoples’ experiences!
This is encouraging to read. I used to run and after a several year hiatus, I’m back. I’ve been so in love with the feelings of accomplishment and hard work when I’m done, even though I’m only running low mileage right now. I like to read about how others got into it — it’s a great way to find encouragement during those low moments :).
Getting back can be tough, I have been there. But well worth it! I am running faster now than I did 12 years ago. Keep at it!
I’ve enjoyed reading about your training, so I nominated you for a Liebster Award! Hope you’ll accept. Check out my last post if you want details!
Hey, I really love what you are doing here. We both share the same passion for sport, although mine is concentrated on cycling. Keep up the hard miles.
Thank you! Passion for what you do is essential. Keep up the hard work as well.

I have just wrote on my Facebook Page a couple hours ago on the same topic:
“Passion
wrestles with summer
where days
burn like fire
and cuddles with winter
where nights
freeze like snow.”
and this one a couple days a go:
“God creates in love
and dances in passion.”
Nice meeting you here. Hope we could inspire each other. π

Thank you Jim!! I am great. I have been training for another iron distance triathlon – very time consuming. I blogged earlier this year about my kitchen renovation. As soon as it finished my training ramped up. The race is in two weeks. Look for more posts soon! Take care my brother.
